Yep, just hope I escape this world before they wanna slip that chip under my skin. For all I know, Uncle Sam already did. :tinfoilhat:

Don't take none that the wrong way...but I think this group knows what I'm sayin'...is what it is and will be what it will be. :)

I work with them (young new troops), and honestly most are good kids with a desire to serve. But I see the dumbing down due to the computerized generation...they rely on the computer/smart phone so heavily, that they don't notice when they enter something in a computer wrong leading to an incorrect result. Simple case in point: when we build a pallet train at work the center of balance of the various pieces needs to be calculated (averaged together) to determine the overall c/b of the built pallet train. Based on the individual weights and c/b(s), and experience, one can eyeball about where the overall c/b will fall within a 10" or closer window. I've watched a kid punch numbers into his calculator and then proceed to mark the overall c/b at the end of the pallet, a good 6 to 8 feet from where it should have been. When I told him that was physically impossible, he replied "that's what it calculated to."

Bottom line, they believe whatever the computer tells them, even if it's wrong. And if a computer isn't available to tell them, sadly, many are lost. :)

    But I'm rambling again...sorry.

Sad part is I can top this story.

Kid needs to put a slide drawer into a cev (think pre-assembled electronics bunker, sealed and lower into the ground in one piece).

He spent 3 months figuring out how much to excavate, unseal, dis-assemle, disconnect all the electronics, set slide drawer in place, and reverse all this to ensure the crv works, does not leak, still can with stand the pressure of being buried.

I kept trying to interject to help him, but he would hold up his hand and say, It's okay, I have a Master's Degree.

So I let run down this rabbit hole.

It took 4 work books, 850k, and 3 months.

The boss looks at it, drops it on my desk and says, You tell him as he walked away.
Kid looks at me and says.....

So Pops teach me oh wise one in a most sarcastic voice.

I simply dropped the workbooks in his arms and said
Why don't you just disassemble the slide drawer?

    He was so pissed.

Hello everyone. I have been out of pocket a few days. Had a heart attack ( my second one ) Sunday night and got a stent Monday. Just released from hospital a couple of hours ago and now home checking out TW. You can't keep a good man down. Well not so sure about the good part, but for better or worse, I am back.

Oh Man Gary, Glad you are home. Heart attacks are some bad stuff. Glad they got you in time. Prayers  and positive thought going your way for a quick recovery. Haven't missed too much here on the porch. Been quiet the past few days. We were down the Jersey shore for 2 days visiting friends who were up from Virginia and they were at their kids house. Had nice weather but the Jersey shore isn't my idea of a fun place. You take care of yourself and listen to the wife and doctor and get back on your feet soon.

Yes, I had some pain and feeling of pressure on the left side of my chest. I should have headed for the ER sooner but like most men didn't want to show up at hospital with a false alarm ( the little boy who cried wolf ). In restrospect, it would have been the best decision. Maybe this old dog learned a new trick. :)

I use the dietary suggestions from the Cleveland Clinic for my heart healthy diet.
I eat salmon, bison, elk, and venison for my meat sources. Chicken only occasionally.
    Cheese rarely.
The trouble is the annoyance it might cause others when we all eat together. I do what I need to do to take care of myself and let others eat what ever they want to.
(In other words, I ask them to let me eat what the hell I want to. I eat heart healthy)

    Cool Old Dudes :)

    Noted, and thank you.

Tuesday, when the smoke was bad, I wanted to cut grass and clean up a tree branch broke off by high winds in backyard. Air quality warnings issued and limit outdoor activity. Kristi gave me the look going out the door and pretty much ordered me to wait a day. Don't know if my insurance is too low or what, but I obeyed...she's much wiser than I. ;) I'm lucky have her looking out for me I reckon. :)
    Attaboy!

    Have a great day all.

A Kalifornia Legislator has proposed a bill to stop students in grade school and Jr. High from being expelled for disruptive behavior. No mention of requiring Ebonics be taught also.
