Figured it out myself, spark plug wire wire came loose on the plug. Heard sparking when I had the window down. Popped the hood could see the spark, shut it off reattached it and good as new!

    Update...
Having some trouble again.. I was having problems where once the truck got up around 45 it would at times not want to speed up at all even if I floored it. The RPM's would accelerate but no change in MPH. I ran a OBD II scanner and got a code for the MAF sensor. Replaced that and that problem went away for a day or two. Now I'm having that problem again as well as I'm getting a random misfire code, and if I hit the gas more than a little bit I get a grinding noise from what sounds to be underneath and a slow increase in speed if that. Now if I have the truck parked or put it in Neutral I don't get that noise at all I just get a little vibration from a loose heat shield towards the back.

I'll be honest I'm no mechanic but I do know some basics. I'm just trying to look for any opinions on what it could be. Thanks Everyone!!

    Any Ideas? :hattip:

At this point now it can go up to 50MPH but it literally takes like a few minutes minutes of hitting the gas then let it go then hit it again and repeat without allowing it to be floored.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Your description sounds similar to when my parents Buick had a clogged cat. Getting up to highway speeds was a real task. You had to hold the pedal down for a long time until you got close to highway speeds and then actually let off the gas a little and it would shift into overdrive.

You might be onto something. I'm wondering if the misfires destroyed the cat from the raw fuel dumping in it. I've seen it several times.

What exactly could have caused a clogged cat?

Sometimes it's just age or mileage.

Hmmm, thanks for the info.. I did a little research online this morning.. Symptoms sound right for what some of the repair sites talk about. Used my scanner today came up with the codes P101, P0137, P0300, and P455.
