I too have been racking my brain on this very subject as well. I’m currently searching for a small 1.5” lift in the front and a small lift in the rear to match factory rake...I’m coming from a Limited 4x4 and pretty much anything is an upgrade in terms of aftermarket suspension parts i guess..although I don’t necessarily “hate” the ride..It just leaves me longing for something more when I do wander onto some tails from time to time. A conservative lift is all I’m needing, ideally I would love to throw on some high quality adjustable coil overs, full leaf packs and the works...but truly I had to be honest with myself...I just don’t use my truck for those intended purposes. I mean, I like to think I would...but I just don’t foresee it happening to justify all that. It’s my daily driver, I haul furniture, lumber and fly fishing gear...that’s pretty much all that goes into the bed. The places I fish are pretty easily accessible, some rutted fire roads and trails but nothing crazy. Trying not to highjack this thread, but you don’t need to overkill it just for the sake of overkill. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and I exchanged an email recently about what I was looking for, she sent some great links to their website (which I’m on there frequently) on their FAQ page...you will learn a lot about the characteristics of what each application will do to your rig. I was looking at Fox but after further contemplation I think all I really am needing are 5100’s with their progressive AAL..will get me the stance I’m looking for, the added ground clearance, and the on-road dampening for everyday driving while still having the off-road capabilities I want...all the while staying true to what purposes I use my truck for . Hope this helps.

More performance from a 1" lift without adding larger tires? ... you realize this wont increase your clearance or significantly alter your suspension travel, right? I would think about this a a bit longer and identify your needs, then identify the appropriate suspension to accomplish those needs - maybe you need 4" lift, maybe you don't need a lift at all.

    Some things to consider:
Where do you take your truck?
    Do you encounter loose rocks?
    Do you encounter big boulders?
    Deep mud and water?
Do you want to rally fast, or just drive slow over technical terrain?

Typically, most members build a suspension that drives fine on the road for daily needs, but has additional capabilities to handle specific off-road uses. For example, I'm setup for overlanding and a little bit for easy rock-crawling. The wife and I camp a lot with our dogs, so I drive long, poorly maintained forest service roads in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. We have a slightly softer suspension than most traditional OL setups to handle some easy rock-crawling, which we encounter in Utah and western Colorado quite often. Give us this info and we will give you the part numbers.
