Yep. Says as much in my profile flag over there <-- right above the gold star that only Double Cab owners get. I see your star is kind of a wavy pyramid. Brown, too.

    Oh well!

Have you never backed up a couple of feet and actually looked at your truck? A whole lotta front and very little back. No balance. Now the DCLB, that thing is sexy! DCSB, not so much.
Too bad they don't make a DCLB OR with a real transmission. Sigh.
Oh well, I'll take my unicorn. The one you 'muricans can't get. LOL

I can see you love your truck - and you need to realize I'm just poking fun. This whole thread is ridiculous so I was just playing along lol. :)

Except for the gaslighting part I mentioned a few posts back.. that shit is real here on TW

    Cheers

I don't get all the hate either. It's exactly what I thought it would be when I bought it, and I really like it a lot. As far as reliability is concerned, time will tell. I just turned 40k miles and no issues yet.

Same as it ever was. You should have seen all the internet hate directed at 2nd gens when they first came out. Forums always skew negative.

Auspicious start. Mine has 3000 miles. Doors rattle. Engine lugs and stumbles annoyingly in normal driving because of the truck's inclination to not go over idle speed. The vibration when slowing down I'm living with and barely notice now but if I pay attention I do ask myself: is this what I get for a 30k dolllar truck?

The third gen has to evolve. The overall demand is up in this space, and there are new players.

If it does not evolve, and others do, the profit will erode. 2022 is my bet

1st gens were awesome little trucks, king of the small truck market,, 2nd gens, Toyota took what they learned from the 1st gens along with a changing market and built an even better Tacoma, 3rd gens, again Toyota took what they learned added many more features and built an even more advanced Tacoma. Bottom line,, all 3 generations are bad ass little trucks no matter what trim package they are.

Just last weekend I attended the Northeast TW meet in Ludlow, Mass. There were over 100 Tacomas of all 3 generations lined up like brothers and sisters. It was an awesome site! I didnt hear a single person put down someone else's rig the entire day. I love my Tacoma and I love your Tacoma and cant wait to see what the 4th generation is going to be!!!

My taco was bought a month ago, the 2.7L. Its a decent looking truck. At first I really regretted it, it seemed sluggish compared to my Dodge Nitro 3.7L and also because I had been driving a Ram 1500 hemi Classic crew cab rental. But it’s growing on me. Now the ARE fiberglass bed cover has been installed so my crap has been moved to the bed. I’ve gotten used to the engine, what it can and can’t do. Guess I’ll keep it a while.

My first truck was a Toyota 4x4 pickup 1993, I put over 130k mikes on her (single cab) wish I still had it. The little 22RE was awesome! I didn’t get anywhere fast but I always made it... on and off road. My daughter just bought her first Tacoma with the 2.7... IT’S A GREAT TRUCK!
