I'm working on designing a rear bumper, wondering if I could see some pictures of how your custom rear bumpers are mounted to the frame.
Also would love to see some rear plate bumpers used with a regular Reese style hitch.
    Thanks.

There is an armor thread floating around that has TONS of pics for you.

There's also several companies that do DIY "kits".

Most of the ones I've seen use something like 1/2" plate that bolts to the frame, then extends out past the bumper and serves as the shackle mounts. The simplest of bumpers is just a box with slits cut in it that go around the 1/2" plate.

Here's a pretty good illustration of what I'm talking about.

A piece of 3" angle iron coming straight off the frame rails, drilled for the stock bumper bolt holes. Easy peasy.0525181422c.jpg

There are so many ways !

Although using a Receiver hitch attach your bumper brackets to the bolts holding the hitch.

Ok, great. I guess I was thinking as much about size of material as much as anything.
This gives me some ideas to go off of.
    Thanks

I think most of the bumper brackets I built over the years were 3/16" or 1/4" for the Toyota Vehicles .

Full Size Trucks was most often 3/8"

Then I was building Trailer Hitches before Receiver Type hitches became Main Stream that were attached to the bumper
