Can anyone recommend a decent leaf blower that is not too difficult to start? I have purchased 2 Craftsman units and both are absolutely miserable to get started, requires starting fluid and many pulls to "maybe" get one to start. I have a cheap Walmart Murray brand weed whacker which always starts on the first or second pull, would love to find a leaf blower that starts as easily.

I have a black and decker 20v one that’s pretty awesome. They have bigger ones now if yuh need more power.

I don’t miss gas for some stuff like that and weed eater

Thanks for the info, but I am not sure a rechargeable one would fit my needs at the house.

Echo is great for homeowner use. Mine are over 15 yo. Starts on 3rd pull even after sitting for a few weeks. 1st if used daily (like in fall)

Stihl if you are going to make a living with it.

Always use e0 in any choice.

This will blow rocks away no problem. Starts on first click any time.
I have 2 batteries so it's an easy swap when needed but one battery usually lasts a couple weeks.
We use it almost daily to clear our flagstone patio.

In addition to a Craftsman blower, I have one of these Ego's. I'm a gas guy, but this electric blower is OUTSTANDING. I got it to dry off vehicles after car washes. But it would absolute be my go to for single yard work. Power is on par with backpack status and the battery life is good when not using turbo mode.

    Solid recommendation.

Sorry but these are garbage. When I ran a warehouse I bought one. Couldn’t have gas powered equipment so got the echo snowblower and leaf blower. The batteries are expensive as hell and don’t last very long.

Go Stihl or Husqvarna. Both start great and the engines will last forever and take a beating. Mine is a Husqvarna and I never have trouble starting it.

I mow lawns and sweat by my Husqvarna equipment. For a blower I have the largest they make, the 580 backpack.

The best thing you can do to make your machines run better is the gas and oil. I started running premium non-ethanol gas a few years ago with high quality husqvarna oil. My machines start up 1st pull when warm, 3rd at worst when cold. Previous to this, i used 87 as that's what the owners manual requires, and whatever oil was at home depot. I would struggle to get the machines running, and they didn't have as much power.

I have owned my trimmer for many yrs, and there was a huge difference in its performance after the 2nd or 3rd tank of fuel after switching to the good fuel/oil. My blower is newer, as it replaced a 12 yr old husky blower that was worn out.

I'd try running good fuel through the blower you already have. The good synthetic husqvarna oil I run is $3 at tractor supply, so not expensive. That will make 2.5 gallons.

I’ve had Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo. I will never purchase another Stihl as their quality has gone down the drain. Not to mention, they vibrate like crazy even with their “anti-vibration system.” I have a backup Husqvarna blower that is 13 years old, but still starts on the second pull. Love Echo products though. I switched all my lawn care equipment over to Echo two years ago and haven’t had a single issue.

I do use the synthetic premixed fuel in the blower, think it says it 94 octane. However I mix up 87 with whatever oil they have at Wal-Mart or Lowe's for the weed whacker.

Picked up an Echo and used it 3 times so far, it has started on the 2nd or 3rd pull. Thanks again guys for all the recommendations!

Good choice going with gas. Electric just aren’t quite there yet. Others will probably say how amazing they are at producing hurricane level winds, but that’s my experience and ten cents.

Yeah, I think we may have to agree to disagree here. I’m a gas fanatic and I really enjoy the echo two stokes. Definitely can’t go wrong there. However electric is right there on the edge. It’s close. The EGO that I got, which is top of the line and pretty much top of class right now, is seriously impressive. I’m certainly not ready to try a mower or anything like that, but the blower is on point. The other brands aren’t there yet, they either lack power or battery life. The EGO is the only one I can vouch for.
