    Good Evening TW,
I’ve been searching through threads looking to see if anyone has installed Focal K2s in the front doors of a 2nd Gen Tacoma (specifically the 165 KX2). Crutchfield says they do not fit, but I’m wondering if anyone has done it with a custom adapter and if it’s possible. I’ve found threads where people have installed them in 3rd Gens but couldn’t find any 2nd Gen installs.

Any insight would be appreciated. I found a really good deal on a set but don’t want to get them if I can’t get them to fit.

btw i have an SQ setup (more or less) with 6.5 K2P's up front and no rears to muddy it up. and a 13TW-5 in the back. really great when they get enough power.

Thanks for the feedback. I have an Alpine PDX F6 that I’ll be running. It puts out 150x4 and those speakers are rated at 120 watts. I’ve heard that Focals sound a lot better when powered by an amp. I ended up ordering them so I’ll find out soon. Hopefully I can get them to fit without too many issues.:fingerscrossed:

that is totally true about the Focals. originally i ran them off a 90w/ch Alpine from yesteryear. then i put them on a bridged Xtant and they were seeing about 220w/ch up front. that was great. then i replaced the Xtant with a JL HD 600/4 bridged to put out 300w/ch. this is the best yet for sure. these things just eat up power. i run them with a HPF at 100Hz 24db/oct so i can push them w/o distortion.

That’s impressive. I didn’t realize they can handle that much power. I can’t wait to get everything installed. I’ve been stacking up parts for a few months now. Hopefully this weekend I’ll be able to get everything in.
