    Hey Guys

Just thought that I would share some of the scenic areas of our state that I have had the pleasure to of visiting . These are sites that I would recommend. None of these sites are very difficult to access. But 4WD is recommended. I'm using Acme Mapper because I like the crosshairs to pinpoint the location.

Greers Ferry Lake (close to Narrows Bridge) This first site is one of my favorite swimming locations. Even though it is somewhat remote, it can get busy for such a small location. You have to cross a couple mud-holes to access the site. So 4WD is recommended when you turn off on the trail.

Greers Ferry Lake (Fairfield Bay Area) This location is one of the well know Cliff Diving locations. Expect to see a few boaters just off-shore. Once again, a few mud-holes to cross. 4WD recommended.

Blanchard Springs. Don't really need 4WD to visit this Park. But well worth the trip. The terrain is mountainous. And the views are spectacular.

Browns Creek Rd (west of Maumelle At) This road runs through the Ouachita Forrest along side a Creek. The road crosses the creek in a couple locations (4WD recommended). The trail narrows and widens in various locations. Keep heading west on this trail to T94. West on 94 to T86. Finally, west on 86 to Hwy7 just north of Hot Springs (about 1.5 HR drive). NOTE: Cellular Service is very sporadic. Dedicated GPS is recommended.

Forked Mountain (Ouachita National Forrest). If you followed the Browns Creek Rd route, you will start seeing this mountain when you reach T86. Seems like this mountain is well known by the Climbing Community around AR. The west side of the mountain has a sheer face. I usually see many tent campsites at the base. Note: 4WD isn't necessary if you access T89 from Hwy7. GPS is recommended.

Buckville (north side of Ouachita Lake). Its quite a long drive to get here. But there are several interesting sites to see once you are here and along the way. Nice for swimming, canoeing. 4WD may be needed in some areas.

Buffalo River @ US Hwy65. This is a neat small area to pull off of the road and see the Buffalo. You can drive right up to the river. 4WD recommended.

T132 @ Hwy9 (Ouachita National Forrest). This trail is posted as an "Auto Trail". But I wouldn't just take any ole automobile down it. Very mountainous trail. Therefore 4WD is recommended. Beautiful mountain scenery.

    Enjoy.
