Found this today on my 2018 Taco, wonder how many years of Maine salted roads before this rots the stop and half the frame away, not very good engineering on Toyotas partIMG_5215.jpg

it also does a neat trick at the car wash. hit it with the high pressure wand and all the crap inside of it will shoot out right back at you.

Looks good to me. Soooo many vehicles start rotting in the salt belt because of little areas like this collecting crap from the road.

Is your frame rotted? If not fix the misleading title.
    Clickbait.

The cab mounts and main frame C channel hold a lot of sand too. I check these three areas every week in the winter.

Make sure it’s closed cell foam or it will make it even more rust prone

That old 4R that comes to our shop is beast. The original alternator lasted 295k until the power lead corroded away

That foam attracts moisture like a magnet, (holding water against the frame), then brakes down. Better off getting it level and filling it with epoxy or something like that.
