Does anyone know where the ground is located for the 12v outlets?

    Generally under the tires

Look for a white/black wire. That's toyota's common ground color.

There is a ground nut by the fuse box. Another attached to the 12v lighter socket in the console....OR...Any part of the frame.

I just found another one behind the dash.....5" behind the start (or 4X4) button...(Muct remove 2 pieces to get at it.)

What are you doing? Maybe I can help ya'll.

So the purple wire on the 12v socket (dash) is switched (IGN)? Looking for "on with ignition" for heated seats...

Tap the fuse of the 12v Socket with an Add-a-fuse.

Did they come with a relay? Supply the main power from the battery. Tap any ACC circuit for the switch.

I believe this is just for the switch lighting.

EDIT: Looks like this is the best route.

These are the Rostra ComfortHeat that come from Clazzio. I'm using the harness with the gold power supply. They didn't come with a relay but it sounds like the blue/green lead (switch lighting) needs power before the seats will work, may act as an integrated relay? I am also adding a secondary Blue Sea setup so will power/ground and relay from there if needed.

Now that I think about it that socket is probably too much for a lighting circuit. I believe it asks for 5 max...
