Hey guys, just joined asking for some advice. I’ve got an 07 Tacoma. And i got the letter in the mail awhile back about the corrosion inspection. I’ve done the test 2 times now about 7-8months ago. In my eyes the rust is bad ! Brush my foot on the frame and rust falling off. I recently moved to Portland, OR looking to fall a dealer and try the test up here. Not sure the best way to go about it to try and get the frame replacement. Any advice helps !

Isn't the frame replacement only good for 12 years out from the "birthdate" of the truck? If that's the case I don't think you'll qualify.

Steves104X4 - so they are actually looking for holes ? I was told they take a hammer and hit the frame. If it makes a hole or rust falls off you get your recall-warranty. So many things going around. And with my luck. It’s going to happen down the road when i can’t do anything.

Unfortunately I would say so. I would pull the bed off and get everything down to bare metal, then coat with POR15.

Not necessarily. Did you post the in service date for your truck? The latest a 2007 would have probably been sold somewhere close to September or October of 2007. While the in service date has probably come and gone there is a slim chance that if your Tacoma was sold late in the 2007 model year run then maybe it has not been quite 12 years since it was put in service?

Definitely taking off bed would be the last option.not quite the skills guy when it comes to that. Still going to call up Toyota and try.

Welcome to TW! I think the dealership test involves hitting the frame with a hammer at several key locations. If the hammer makes a hole they give you a new frame.
