It is but it’s a shortened habitat rack. I’ll try to sell the rack and light together.

I’m going to put together a complete list of stuff. When I have it all, i’m Gonna sell it to first come first served. Local pickup/meetup preferred.
Also, the bumpers and such have to stay with the truck. It still needs to be a truck at the end of the day.

    And then, the next project . . . . . .

Leaning towards older 4Runner or fj cruiser and doing permanent rear seat deletes with a simple interior sleeping platform. Like the idea of less and stealth camping more readily. Habitat is opposite of stealth. Though, who knows.

It needs to be a "truck" so the insurance company can total it and scrap it? They'll just jerk onto a flat bed.

Thats what they do...has to within reason have every piece a stock one would have...sometime people get away without small things like grab handles, shift knobs, ect....but yes, they want to scrap it whole lol

Taco, if you are going to do a sleeping platform build, I'd vote FJs suck....need a rear hatch IMO. The rear door on these things is a royal bitch to use, though I suppose rigging up some sort of 'room' off the back or even the side doors might be plausible.

    @tacofort

I had a sleeper cap on the bed of an ext cab 1st gen that was a pretty hot setup for ez solo trips.
I had a half width bed box with a full length drawer and a custom memory foam mattress on it.
I also had a couple hooks on the camper top hatch to attach a tarp to, then you could leave the hatch open for a little more space, or run it to a nearby tree/other truck for way more sheltered space than an awning gets you.

Thinking back... I really miss that setup. Simple, cheap, plenty of time to MTB or MX, no serious GF to keep happy or to give me a list of things to do... I digress lol

Idk if I have any pictures of it tho, I was even worse at remembering to take pictures in those days!

Thanks @EdinCincinnati for the offer! But I couldn’t handle the vibration/shaking any longer. And with long, highway drives planned two weekends in a row, I took a risk and bought new tires. Had a set of 285/70/17 standard load Nitto Ridge Grapplers mounted yesterday (got $100 off a set of 4 from Discount Tire).

And I’m happy to report that the vibration is gone! No more strange feeling at takeoff, no more shaking from 50-70 mph and these tires are definitely softer than the KO2s. The truck is as smooth as can be expected on the highway with a ~3” lift and feels much less harsh over bumps now. We’ll see how they hold up over time but so far, I’m beyond thrilled with them.

Oh and if anyone is interested, I’ll sell the KO2s for a good price locally. I’m thinking $500 picked up for all four. They’re 285/70/17 C Load rated and they have 14/32nds of tread remaining. I only had them on the truck for about 4000 miles. I didn’t have time to take any pictures before I left yesterday so I can’t officially post them for sale on the forum but I’ll take some when I get home Monday.

It’s awesome!! 2 wheel drive off road. Front wheel drive when on asphalt.

Computer limits speed to 30mph though

So I am tearing apart the truck today, someone asked about doing a rear bumper swap, but backed out. If somebody is interested, I have the rear bumper to swap for $500, the mountain hatch tailgate insert for $100 (sold), pelfreybilt aluminum pro mid skid, rear skid, and gas tank skid for $600.

Give me a DM and we can deal. Need to get it done quick. Preferably today on the rear bumper and mountain hatch tailgate.
