Ok, turns out it was as simple as the Radio No. 1 fuse under the hood!

All is working well right now. DVD plays at any speed, nav working, etc.

I still have the backup cam question.

I bought the Pioneer camera but it has a tinyy square connector but the Avic has and RCA Jack for the back up camera connection.

Do I have to cut off the connect and solder on an RCA? (the stock camera wire is a 3 wire-red,blk & brown)

    Thanks again

    Mark

Pioneer camera should be plug and play RCA jack. The camera cable itself had a square plu that pluged into some sort of box then another cable out the other side of it was square on one end and RCA on the other.

Ok, I finally got around to installing the Pioneer backup camera but have an "issue".

In the settings, I turned it on w/ polarity to "battery" and couldn't figure out how to get the camera to come on.

I switched the setting to "GND" polarity and now the camera is always on and can't get back to any of the menus.

    Any ideas?

    TIA!

    ~Mark

    ps - I'm a dope with this stuff :)

Ok, I disconnected the battery and was able to reset the unit so everything works as normal again.

The existing problem is when I shift into reverse, the back up camera does not come on (it's "on" and polarity set to "battery" in the settings menu).

I double checked the pink wire coming from the Avic unit to the reverse wire at the driver's kick panel and it looks like it's connected just fine.

Is there something else that I'm supposed to do to get it to work?

    Thanks again,

    ~Mark

PS - In case anyone is ever looking for it, the VSS is located behind the glove box (purple/white) in the 2nd and 3rd pics
