So its been a while since I've posted here and I wish it was for a better reason but oh well, I need help. Back in December of 2017 I had the same issue and they had to replace that infamous blower connector and plug the burns out and the Toyota sales guy swore up and down that the replacement would be a much better part. I'm not stupid and I know he is going to talk up the product he is selling me but shouldn't the replacement that is "so much better" last longer than a year and a half if the "crappy original" (His words not mine) lasted almost 10 years? I went in today and talked to the service rep and the part only had a one year warranty so I'm boned there. Do I have any chance if I bitch enough to the Toyota GM or service manager of getting this comped? I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass but come on. Any input or advice is appreciated. Also I know its the same part because I pulled the plug out and half of it was black

I don't run the blower on high, max current heats up the connector, and I tell people not to kick the heater. At 266k, my 06 still has the original heater plug. I rarely have a passenger, they're always running the window up and down, re-tuning the radio, pushing their feet against the floor RIGHT where the blower connector is!

connector got hot and melted?... replace it.

replaced it and had it do the same thing a year later? tough shit the underlying issue still exists

no one "swindled" you because they didnt suck your toes while giving a rim job... they sold you a part that worked fine and failed due to an underlying issue

figure it out fix it enjoy another 10 years of blower motor resisting

perhaps the female connector loostened up the first time the male connector burned up causing the accelerated failure of the 2nd one

believe me griping on this fourm doesnt get you anything unless you have a 3rd gen
