I have an odd rattle when I hit a pot hole / speed bump at low speeds that sounds like it comes from the driver side engine bay / wheel assembly. I have 40K on my 17' double cab at 40K miles with a standard warranty for another 5, and an extended to 70k. The last time I mentioned it at the dealer, they said I would have to schedule that separately and not look at it during normal maintenance. I have 0 mods to the drivetrain / suspension and feel like it shouldn't be rattling at this point. Is it even worth pushing them to look at it under warranty?

Are you sure it isn’t something in your truck (like in the door or glovebox) that is rattling?

Or the water bottle in the door. Really, that's where I found my "rattle".

Nope, it is definitely metal on metal. My first truck had a heat shield that just eventually lost its rigidity. Then it had the bushings completely wear out causing metal on metal. Because of the location of the sound and metallic noise, I have ruled out coming from inside the cab.

    Disappointed.

    No SNEK memes yet.

I presume your hearing is damaged. Buy a cheap microphone amplifier, microphone, and headphones.

Move the microphone around. Louder means closer. Pay a little kid to help. They have great hearing.
