Got a Thule T2 hitch rack but needed more room to pick up son's friends. Like how this turned out.

    I miss my tailgate pad.

Came home from work to this on the doorstep. Such a big step up from squeezing my bike in the back of my old suv. Rack feels sturdy and super well made. Very happy I finally bit the bullet made the purchase.19730809-070D-447F-8299-EE2A1D7077CF.jpg

I do have a Yakima Stickup hitch rack and also Holdup upright racks for on top of topper. But this has been my go to when my bed is empty since the 90’s. It’s been used in multiple trucks from Rangers to multiple Tacoma’s. Last year I changed the slats under the box to Trex Deck(plastic) from wood 1x4s. I had just redecked my dock and had some left over.

    Okay...
So, I have XT dynasys long cage on the rear...
But, my half-assed research through-out the day while doing everything else....
I need new everything, shifter(knew that), cassette(obviously) NW chain ring(duh)....chain etc. And the RD?
So, the XT 1x11 kit is available over seas as a package... but, not here.
I am sure I am missing some channels here, so, i am reaching out for info/guidance.
Not interested in dumping a buttload in an aging chassis though, especially knowing I will never recover it.

Edit, well cleared up the RD, found the PN, yes, theyre different....

My old truck was a F250, hauling 4 bikes was easy with just a Thule rack with 3 clamps and daughters bike across the back laying down.
I had to get a little more creative with the Toyota, bought one more clamp and a 2 x 12, removed the other three clamps from the bar.
I had blocks in case I needed to raise a fork clamp to clear but there was enough room with just staggering them.20190825_123443.jpg

Well buy mine at half the cost and if it doesn’t work out you still get a good deal ;)

In all seriousness, GG has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you buy a bike from them and aren’t
Completely stoked, they will refund the cost and take the bike back, no questions asked.

Very cool. Did you pick up those forks later or have the bosses welded on? My little brother has one of the early race frames, and there are no front brakes.

    Here's mine.

New Seargeant v3 is nice, but aluminum and 157x12 and more travel.

yeah, I've always liked the RSD bikes. The problem is that none of them appear to check every box on my list. Even their 29+ BigChief only has limited travel and very few mounts for attachments. I also don't want to deal with yet another wheel standard in my stable, so the Sergeant's 157x12 is a dealbreaker for me.

Right now, my very short list of bikes that check every last box consists of just the 2019 Vassago VerHauen and trusty 'ole Surly Krampus.

I just finished this conversion on my bike. One small thing I had to get that I didn't know about was chain ring spacers. They are about ten bucks for the spacers and longer chain ring bolts. I got these ones. The bolt is so long that it stick's out a bit but doesn't interfere with anything on my bike. But with the 1X systems the chain line is pretty bad even when it's "spot on" so these helped me a lot.
