How is your 3rd gen holding up?

2016 and just hit 38k miles. Beside replacing stock battery at 26k, it meows like a kitten... wish it would clean itself though..

 

@6MTPro I've had no problems, everything still feels solid.

 

If your clutch pedal hasnt started groaning when its warm out, it will at some point. It only seems to be seasonal for me, when its above 70 degrees.

 

Well it was 104 yesterday for me and I didn't hear any groaning so fingers crossed.

 

Mine had the same problem bad axles

 

I get it the howl. It only happens between 56 and 59 MPH. I don't notice it most of the time

 

Mine is fairly quiet but I notice a slight creak when it's cold out.

 

2016 TRD OR 74,000 miles.
Needle bearing up front is starting to have a pulsing vibration around 30-40 mph... need to change.
Usual maintenance Oil/Fluid/Tires/new battery. Trans TSB update.
Rear diff was seeping but has been addressed.
Leaf springs squeak like a mother.

Otherwise it's been very reliable.

 

This clutch squeak thing is turning into the three little bears. Too hot, too cold, just right.

 

It's a truck, looks like a truck, rides like a truck, makes truck noises, can't be upset when a duck goes quack! Some people worry too much about the little things.

 

2016 trd sport 100k miles. AC compressor is going bad needs to be replaced. other than that everything else has been good.

 

Im not worried in the slightest. I couldn't care less actually, lol. Mine is quiet loud, loud enough to be heard over talking. Its been regreased, stays quite for some time, then comes back. I make a joke out of it really, mainly because I'd go nuts if I took it seriously. Even with my positive attitude on the small issues I have, I cant say the truck is stellar. As I've already stated, Im happy with it but Ive owned too many Japanese sourced Toyotas to say its on par with their overseas QA.

 

26,000 on my '17 TRD Sport 2wd. No issues at all....the auto transmission really pissed me off at first, but it seems to have "learned" my driving and is alot better or it's all in my imagination....either way, I'm very happy with my truck. I'll be keeping it and giving it to my son one day.
I figure I'll get a Tundra or other make full size truck after this one's paid for. Just need more room

 

It’s normal when the truck stalls to throw all the warning lights. Unless you hate the truck I wouldn’t jump ship. Probably just a extremely small number with some faulty fuel pumps. It happens with all makes and models

 

I love but I guess like with any vehicle, it's not perfect. After some thinking, I'll be keeping it! I'm just looking forward to finally getting it back.

 

Just sold my 2016 SR5, AC, V6, AT, Tow and got the wife a 2019 RAV4. That was about my 12th Toyota truck and maybe the best one.

Paid $27,015 for it new, kept it 25,000 miles and 39 months and sold it for $27,000 (it was showroom new).

Had a key fob replaced, small rear diff leak fixed and transmission reflash .... it was a good truck and I will buy a 2020 Tacoma or a sports car next.

 

I think I hear what you're getting at. However, in my opinion these trucks are not cheap compared to others on the market. They aren't cheap because of demand and because of the "legendary Toyota reliability." I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a truck that's less than a year old to have axles that are manufactured correctly, or transmission software that's tuned correctly, or body and trim pieces that aren't falling off. Depending on trim and the market you're in, most people paid $35 to $40k for their trucks. For most Americans, that's a lot of money. And yeah, as an owner of a 2015 Highlander that has had zero issues for over 80k miles, I expected better than average reliability, not less.

 

Truck has been great, Axle seal blew out a couple months ago but easy fix. Regular maintenance and she’s been great!! Has taken me to awesome places without issue.

 

About to hit 77K in my '17. Besides a few TSBs like the blower motor, shifting, and blower motor again, the only problem Ive had was my door locks not working anymore. My Toyota platinum warranty covered it all.
