50K miles on the original set and time to replace. 90% highway miles but I do fish and hike and for that it's mainly forest roads so no need for a true off road tire. They were fine in last winter's snow and got me to work just fine. Around $700 installed after Discount Tire's Labor Day sale. Why should I take a chance and spend more for Wildpeaks or whatever the flavor of the day might be?

I like my stock Wrangler All Terrain Adventure Kevlars. Good enough in mud, trails, gravel, rock, wet slippery grassy hills, etc. Just have not had them in snow/ice yet. Great on the street with no inclination to hydroplane, great wet traction, great dry traction, no/low noise, good mpg. Assuming good performance in snow I intend to replace them with another set of A/T Adventures when they wear out (or maybe the Goodyear TrailRunners?).

I'm having a good experience with the wildpeaks. I 99 percent of the time drive highway and they are as quiet as stock. I think the improvements in wet pavement traction and snow are improved over stock. The extra traction for the times I go "off road" and improved as well. They seem to be wearing fine.

Gladly sold off my Kevlar "Highway Tires", for some C load 265/75/16 Duratracs. Bought them since they have the 3 peak snow designation, and gladly sold off my dedicated winter tires too.:spending:

They are ok tires from the factory. When mine were toast at 25,000 I replaced them with a set of falken AT3w. I ran those for 56,000 and replaced them with another falken. They are awesome tires and I highly recommend them.

If you're happy with them, sure stick with them. I wanted a more aggressive AT without breaking the bank or having terrible road noise, so I went with Dynapro ATMs. There are better tires for certain purposes, but these fit the bill for me, and are a great value. I also put them on my wife's 4R and she noted how much quieter they were than the factory tires.

My other issue with stock tires was the appearance. They look like minivan tires. I wanted something more aggressive that matches the styling of our trucks. I'm pretty sure the stock tires were chosen for an extra 1mpg.

I'd rather talk people out of "talk me out of" threads...

If your happy with what you have then stick with what you know. If you're looking for different characteristics, there's a whole sub-thread catagory called Wheels and tires for you to do your own research in.

Good luck and hope you find your answers.

Bridgestone Duellers at Costco would make a fine replacement for you. At a budget friendly price.

If you want to up your game a bit all around, including highway quiet/smooth, Michelin Defenders. Also Costco.

Catch a sale, get $70 or more off AND their .01 per corner dismount/mount/balance/nitrogen fill/road hazard warranty. With lifetime rotations/balance.

Good luck with your duratracs. Those were the worst tires I've ever owned by a long way. Constant vibration above 50, nobody could figure them out, I got sick of sitting in tire shops lobby's so I lived with them. They weren't really loud tires until I got about 6k miles on them, then they were as loud as mud tires.

Pretty good looking truck tires. Good for street and highway use and light enough for improved MPGs. Tr

Yeah they're hit or miss. Fortunately I've got about 40k on mine and I've been able to dodge the noise.

The traction is fantastic on them though.

The Stock tires were ok, replaced them with Wildpeaks which have much better rain and snow traction.

That was me with the BFGoodrich tires. This is why I will never buy K02's.

What kind of mpg drop did you see with these? I have the same tire and size but E load and lost about 3 mpg

I don't drive far enough to notice mpg, but being bigger, I'm sure there is loss.

I've had KO2's on just about every truck I've owned, but took a chance on the Wildpeaks...they're ubiquitous for a reason!

Yeah sorry about that. I guess my point was that I know it's not cool to like OEM tires but they've really been fine for my needs. People don't usually recommend them because they have nothing invested in them, it wasn't their decision to go with them.

And I have done a TON of research both here and on Tirerack. I'm a high performance driving instructor and know tires. I know what I want on my M3, I'm just kind of stuck here.

Some great suggestions, I may take a chance on Wildpeaks just a little put off by the issues some have had.

Because the stock wranglers are basic bitch tires

    Jk

In all seriousness I used them on many camping trips. But, on the freeway one almost came apart due to a large bolt. Aftermarket tires (depending on which) will give you some more protection
