I almost died in my truck yesterday(with video)

I’ve been reading this thread from the get go. OP hopefully they figure out exactly what is going on. Also I hope you get well, and have no permanent damage from whatever it is that caused this.

As for the whole people not stopping thing; I see it both ways. I sometimes pass people and think to myself should I stop? Most of the time people are just stopped for non emergency situations. But even when I can tell someone may be broken down sometimes I just don’t have the time to stop. I’m not old and retired with nothing better to do. I rarely go for drives anymore without some type of purpose and most of the time I’m driving I’m headed to work. 95% of all people now have cell phones, and service coverage. I don’t live anywhere near any really remote areas like some here, otherwise it would be completely different. Anyways over the winter I was coming home from work one morning. I live in the snow belt so we get a lot of snow and harsh winter weather. I come across a car that slide off the road into what looked like a small tree. I ended up slowly passing by thinking myself should I stop or not. I ended up driving about a mile down the road, then I said to myself I have to go back just to be sure they are ok and don’t need any help. I did have to be back to work in less than 12 hours after working all night, but obviously I still had plenty of time. So I turn back around and pull up to the car. I put my window down and a lady puts her window down. I ask if she is ok, or needs any help. She said she was fine and called her husband already. I then asked if she wanted me to pull her out with my truck. Thinking I can save her a tow bill. She said no and seemed like she wanted no help at all. She just reiterated that she told her husband. I felt like as if she thought I was some creeper like trying to pick her up or something. So because she was physically ok and had already called someone I simply said “ok” wound up my window and drove off. As I’m driving off I thought it was pretty foolish on her part, but you can only offer help, you can’t make anyone accept it. Who knows how long she ended up sitting out there in the cold. Also being on a curve of someone else lost control like she did, she could of been hit. I just wanted to stop because there are plenty of times where I do pass people and question if I should or not. Figured what if that was my grandma or daughter or someone else’s. I would want someone to stop for them. I’m pretty young, with some old school values, but I realized that in today’s society, most people don’t want your help. Most people are scared of people today. I can understand why as you read crazy stories on the news or see stuff like on the first 48 or these other shows. Also unless you see clear signs of distress, or an actual accident it may be best/wanted to simply just carry on. Even pulling over for someone in an accident and trying to help, even with the best intentions can lead to bad things. If you try to help someone out of a wrecked car and they suffer an injury you can be sued. People have sued bystandards who have stopped to try and help. Also had another time where I was driving to a work location and see a telephone pole on fire. I ended up calling 911. Operator was rude and acted like they could careless. Like I shouldn’t of dialed an emergency number for that. However it was on a busy 5 lane road and I wasn’t sure if it just happened and no one called it in yet. Plus there was also a bus stop that I know of just past that spot. Anyways after hanging up I did pass a officer who I’m sure pulled up to the scene and stopped traffic or called fire to come out. Again another situation where I tried to help do something and it was made to seem like I was in the wrong.

All I’m saying is there is a large gray area when it comes to stopping to help someone. If I’m a populated area I don’t think it’s wrong to not have stopped. Somewhere remote is a different story. I just try and use my instincts. I’m very aware of my surroundings, so if I see someone that I believe needs help and I can’t stop I’ll simply make a call to the proper authority to make a report just Incase.

 

Your symptoms sound like lyme’s disease. I would get to Mayo as fast as your insurance will allow. The doctors are on another level.

We have partial results in. There are 2 stages in West Nile, and I may be in between so it's not detectable. The first test came back negative, but they can send out a antibodies test in a little bit and see what comes of that.

So as for a cause, still not sure. Getting better though, I am getting more and more of my legs back each day, still can't stand, but I can move them a little more.

I agree with Mayo... I’m a huge fan of Cleveland Clinic (from CLE) but Mayo has saved a few family and friends that CCF just couldn’t figure out. They have a pretty unique system to identify issues and treat.

 

I pray for a complete recovery for you. I agree, sounds like Mayo time.
