Yes sir sure is! Really loud, but i like it, its pretty racey sounding. Burbles in between shifts and pops when closing the throttle. Im like a little kid when it comes to that

 

I"m doin' it with 2 wheels. In fact, I've had several trucks over the years and have never owned a 4WD.

Dedicated to stock. My 1978 I bought brand new when I came home from Basic Training.

 

And my stock 9.5 year old Dog.

 

I-6 I'm guessing? I know somewhere around the late 70s a 304 V8 was an option and the 2.5 Iron Duke was available, close behind it. But I'm not that knowledgeable on Jeeps

 

It has the Factory original 304 V8 3 speed manual Transfer case is all gears NO chain. I have been through it mechanically twice so far. getting ready to upgrade the fuel system and go through the brakes and replace the steering gearbox. and throw a new muffler on it.

 

Awesome rig. Cool you've had it 41 years too.

Looks like it could use some fresh rear leaf springs. .

 

10-4 I plan on taking all 4 springs to a suspension shop here in Atlanta and having them rebuilt back to original specs.
Sadly there is NOT as much room between the steering wheel and my 60 year old gut

 

Reminds me of the old joke...

Customer: "Did you find out what's wrong with my car?"

Mechanic: "Yep, sure did. There's a loose nut between the seat and steering wheel.".
