I found 2 posts that referenced 5-lug Taco's running the Icon AAL but they're pretty brief comments so I thought I'd see if anyone has any personal experience.

    Here's a run-down of the situation:

I bought an Icon 1.5" AAL kit from a shop after calling around the nearby shops to see what's available. When I spoke to them I specified that I have a 5-lug Tacoma. I had seen reference to this AAL kit on tacomaworld posts so that seemed promising. Got my truck jacked up and got my leaf pack U-bolts unbolted before realizing that my truck didn't vibe with the Icon installation instructions.. how do I drop my axle when there are leaf springs below it?!

Anyways, I should have realized ahead of time that something was amiss when reading through the instructions but didn't put it together. Now I'm worried the Icon AAL isn't compatible with my 5-lug so I call Icon and sure enough, the guy tells me they don't make an AAL for a 5-lug. Bummer. So I call the shop I bought the AAL from and the guy tells me he's never installed it himself but does know of people using it on a 5-lug.

Now I'm thinking it should work alright except for the fact that the Icon rep told me it wouldn't.. anyone have any thoughts/experience?

    Thanks,
    Brian

I'm in a similar situation and here's what I've read. I could be way wrong in my interpretation but so be it, if so I'll appreciate being corrected. The hole to hole domensions are the same but the 5-lug has a bit more arch to the spring so the add-a-leaf for a 6-lug will tend to lessen the arch on your stock 5-lug pack slightly lowering the rear when empty. However, it will ride firmer with the add-a-leaf and might sit higher with less sag than it would before when loaded. Hard to say for sure. Air bags don't care one way or the other but I want to get away from having 30lbs in them with just the cap and an empty bed.

Would love to lower the rear an inch while stiffening the back-end. Curious if anyone backs or contests you, @bagleboy

Whenever I get around to installing them I’ll certainly post results.
