On my recent three week trip to the PNW, one wilderness I was back in there around six miles and thought I was in Kalifornia. Empty tin cans in a fire pit. WTF? Even bpers can trash a place.

I lived in Little Rock, Arkansas for all of 2014.
Most of the northwest part of the state is the Ouchita Mountains. There are miles and miles of Forest Service Roads with some good technical off roading, deep water crossings and lots of dispersed campsites in beautiful locations.

In my travels most of those campsites had enough litter to fill at least one lawn and garden trash bag. Some had large kitchen Appliances like dishwashers or refrigerators that had been burned and covered in bullet holes. I saw the same thing at dispersed sites in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.

One site I remember in particular was a still brining campfire with a fresh bag of garbage on it and a washing machine. I had to take the washing machine apart to fit it in my truck.

I’ve been all over CA. I haven’t seen the wide scale abuse like in AR. I’ve seen it pretty bad here but not like in the south.

Let’s not let it get that bad.
