Trying to install Meso's pro shifter. First I dropped the wire end down below the wireless charger and it hooked on something. Then I used 8 different things and it didn't come out. I bought a new one and ripped the four wires out of it fishing the wire through the boot.
Said screw it and put everything back together. Smashed the 3 clips where the console lid closes

Currently driving around with no ECT and a fancy shifter that's useless.

I can replace a transmission, install a stereo system and build a house. This shifter got me.

I remember when I was 17 and bought my first street bike(‘04 CBR 600) I was walking it down the driveway between the garden wall and my Dads brand new Chevy avalanche. Yeah I’m sure you know what happened, tipped that bitch and the frame sliders went right into the door of his new truck, was a rough week lol. No damage to my bike though lol, just felt and heard the wrath from the former Army drill sergeant. Beats the hell out of me why I didn’t just sit on it and coast back.

By the way OP, this is going to be an awesome thread!

While I’m on the subject...Did you ever try to wipe with your non-dominant hand? I thought that I was ambidextrous but that was a humbling experience. Carry On.

Was waiting on the ferry from Edmunds to Kingston in Washington state in the summer. Was about an hour wait and it was starting to get hot in the truck. Turned it on and set it to Arctic chill, except it wasn't blowing cold air at all. Got home, went straight to the auto parts store and bought a can of refrigerant. Plugged it in and my pressures were fine, also checked my sight glass and it looked fine. Found out I just never pressed the "AC" button to turn it on...

    '03 Tundra:
Low pressure line for power steering sprung a leak. I cut it shorter as a temporary fix until I got a new one. New hose comes in, I clamp down the flexible hoses with vice grips because I had just completely drained and refilled when I did my temporary fix and didn't want to fill it up completely again. Get the new hose installed and turn on the truck to bleed out the lines, and that's when SHTF. I forgot to remove the vice grips and it practically blew every flexible hose for power steering off and fluid went everywhere. So much for trying to save on fluid...

Went out to the garage this morning to head to work, noticed I had a head light out, I was already running behind but didn’t need or want to get pulled over, so lucky I had a spare in my cabinet. So I whipped out my phone an used the light to help myself see down in the engine bay, set it down on my front bumper, quickly swapped out the light, closed the hood and was on my way.. Well didn’t take more than probably 100 feet from the house my watch buzzes telling me I’m out of Bluetooth range from my phone.. OH SH%t!! where is my phone? Not in my pocket? RIGTH I had used it to change my bulb.. GREAT now where is my phone? So first I hop out and sure enough its not on my bumper anymore. I turned around mind you its still dark out as its only 5:30 am, I go back up the road , nothing. An sure enough there it is in my driveway with the light still on (thankfully).. Well not that it is embarrassing enough to forget it on my bumper.. To top it off the screens crack to h@ll an it’s pretty new an I didn’t take out the insurance one it.. Sh###tt… That was my morning..

Do you want an invite to the TW sob story meeting? We meet on Thursdays behind the Arby's. Most of us are there for "I can move mountains, and tripped on the curb" stories.

Just finished putting the turbo 400 and a fresh engine into my ElCamino around noon on Saturday. Went out on a date Saturday nite to see Aloha Bobby and Rose. Met a friend from high school that had a Suburban with a 454 in it. We decided to see if the lowly worked 350 can compete with his 454.

I jumped him off the line and held my lead from first to second when all hell broke loose. When I modified the valve body, I forgot to account for the fluid being thicker when it was cold outside. This raised the line pressure enough to shear the output shaft off in the transmission, which allowed the driveshaft to beat the snot out of the driveshaft safety loop and the driveshaft tunnel.

He was nice about it all and towed me home. I had it fixed the next day by early afternoon.

went wheeling with 2 buddies of mine (I didnt have a jeep or truck at the time), we went out into the woods, on some old trail we got into some tight trails, and sloppy swampy sections, not too deep... we ripped the roof rack off my buddies XJ on a tree, and loaded it into the cab of his, the other jeep XJ was basically stock with onroad tires,.. we had told him not to go in after him into the deep mudhole we were looking at in front of us.. jeep 1 went in... he got stuck about 25-30ft into the mud hole.. jeep #2 went in after him like we told him not to.. he made it about 10-15 ft, and got high centered in the mud holes.... jeep 1 had his tailgate open, and jeep #2 gunned his gas, and turned his wheels just enough to Perfectly land GOBS of thick clay like mud into the cabin of jeep #1... we were stuck there for about 5 hours waiting for rescue from a few guys from a local heavy machinery shop.. ran out of beer and cigarettes waiting.. they had built CJ-7s, and a YJ on 37's.. winches us out.. made it home jeep #2 had a broken rear leaf pack.. jeep #1 no damage..

Changing oil- got to the point of filling and dropped the cap. Went under the car to get it and saw way more rust on the frame than there should be (06 Taco...). Looked into the warranty for a while. Started the truck to move it later on and realized I'd never gotten the cap off the ground.

Cop asked if I knew why he pulled me over and I said "yeah, I was flying!" It had worked a few years before when that cop laughed and said it was refreshing to hear honesty. The 2nd guy apparently had no sense of humor and used it against me in court.
