What could improve your Tacoma?

I've seen spacers that rise the seat for taller people

 

Mounting one of these on the roof of the Taco would be nice...

 

Consider it's designed by Japanese people in Japan. Over 5'7" in Japan is like a giant.

 

Someone posted a Hilux and everything parked next to it was Japanese compacts. That Hilux looked like a full size truck in comparison.

 

Yes, I have spacers for the front of the seat. They make a huge difference in terms of comfort on long drives, but they don't help (and are not meant to help) with other height-related issues.

I got used to it though... Nothing bothers me even close enough to consider another vehicle.

 

There was a thread on here about the mirror. You can adjust it up a good inch or so by pushing up on the mount behing it. It's like a ram mount type thing. Flip the angle and it raises it. I am 6'2" myself and it made a good difference.

 

Thanks for reminding me. I read that, I tried it, and it didn't move at all. I was in a hurry though, so it could be just my fault. I'll take a minute to look at that thing, maybe I can get something out of it.

 

The mirror mount has two ball joints so you can raise/lower or swing side/side the whole mirror as well as tilt/pivot it. Not much but some.

Allow the telescopic steering wheel to come out two more inches (and down proportionally). I'm 6'4", long legs, long arms. With seat fully back and hand in the 12 o'clock position (like a man), arm is fully extended. Not comfortable on long drives. My '02 Tacoma (which I bought in 02) does not have this issue- arm comfortably bent. Love my '02, considering a 2019/2020, but that short steering column is unbelievably retarded! Leg room is fine. Don't want a full sized truck. Very disappointed.

 

I'm 6'2", but if I were 6'4"... not good... I'm not sure I would go with the Taco...

My problem is made worse by the fact that I have long legs, but short arms (for my height). My arm reach is shorter than guys 2" shorter than me. Fortunately I can make my seating position work, but any taller and it would not be good at all.

If I were taller, I would go with a 4Runner. If I really needed a mid-size truck... no way around American (with an extended warranty, if I were planing to keep it)...

The bore and stroke was 4.00 inches by 3.48 inches, and the compression ratio of the engine and fuel injection system on the 1989 C/K 1500 was 9.3:1.

 

I work for Toyota in Dover DE and Toyota makes so many silly options and different builds that it makes ABSOLUTLY no sense on all there models. My opinion would be blind spot standard. Power seat. More adjustment on steering wheel. Fix rear view mirror from being in line of sight and the list could go on and on.

 

I'm 5'11" and sit as tall as most that are 6' to 6' 4"...

I bought FRONT seat spacers from desertdoesit, definitely a worthy upgrade. Much better thigh support (I’m 6’1) and virtually no change to head room. I used to have rear seat spacers which were nice too, until I had a TRD OR with a sunroof.

However- spacing the front is $90, while spacing the rear costs like $12 & 10 minutes at a hardware store. I’d try doing the rear first and see if you like it.

 

An easy to please redhead that can proficiently read a map riding shotgun would be handy
