I have a 2019 TRD with an auto trans. and I have installed Sumo springs (500lbs capacity). I am towing an Aliner A frame trailer that weights 1900 lbs loaded. It squats my truck 2 inches and was wondering do I need a WHD? Thanks

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Yea, WTH? I have a T@B Boondock, doesn’t drop any, with stock springs. What is your tongue weight? It should be 10-15% of total trailer weight.

Yeah, your tongue weight should be between 10-15% of the trailer weight, so 190-285 lbs. If it's significantly more than that, your trailer isn't loaded correctly. Generally, a 1900 lb trailer with the proper tongue weight is well within the Tacoma's ability. I wouldn't even consider a WDH. But if you're squating more than you think you should, check your tongue weight and your suspension.

I think I need to check torque weight. My Aliner is the Classic off road model with a front hard dormer. I think the tongue weight is going to be around 350-400 lbs.

Got tongue weight at 375lbs. Truck is suppose to be good for 640. What am I missing that makes the rear sag two inches. Thanks

Sumos are foam. The new ones don't touch while unloaded. I assume 2 inches is fine because the first inch is only your leafs.

I am not your insurance company, but you do not need a WDH for this trailer, if it's actually 1900 loaded

Just because it's "good for 640" doesn't mean it won't sag. But where did the 640 come from?

That's a huge tongue weight for such a little trailer. I guess the front dormer must throw the center of gravity forward. It's normal to get sag with the stock springs under that load. If you tow a lot another alternative to is a Roadmaster Active Suspension, which increases the springrate of the stock springs. Or get heavier springs. But if you're not towing a lot the WDH sounds like a good option to try.
