Melanie Griffith had Lions in her house. There was a movie about it.

Man oh man, what a bad idea.
Why do people do that?
I wouldn't trust my own domestic cats if they were as big as that.
Much less an undomesticated Big Cat.

I knew a guy who kept a raccoon as a pet.
He had saved it as a tiny kit that somehow was orphaned.

Yeah, it was playful and funny and oh so smart.
He overfed that spoiled bugger and wow it got fat.
He'd feed it bacon and eggs every morning when he had his.

One day it took a notion to bite him on his hand.
It was serious and after operations he hasn't yet regained full use.
Everybody told him he was crazy for keeping it.
One day his Dad solved the problem when the raccoon menaced him, and shot it.

My mom had a raccoon when she was young, I guess it tore the wiring out of the car twice in 1 week, no more raccoon.

I think, in part, that people only consider their own wants and do not consider the needs of the animal. People can be selfish...
