I just recently picked up an 08 Tacoma SR5 (4.0, 4x4, 6spd) with very low mileage (~50,600). I'm looking to do a bunch of maintenance that I'm thinking is due given the mileage and/or age. This is my first Tacoma and I have a few questions. I'm planning to do the spark plugs, rear diff/ front diff/transfer case oils, and transmission fluid.

The truck had a reframe in 2018 at 45k miles at which time I believe the brake fluid and coolant were changed as part of the service. Should I do anything else at this time? If the transmission fluid was never done, am I risking anything by changing it now after 11 years?

I'm sure I'll have some follow up questions, but thanks for all your help in advance. I love the truck already, and I look forward to being a long time member of the community!

Drive it. Plugs and everything else should be good for 100K. The 6 speed is a manual, correct?

I have done everything you have mentioned since I bought mine. I also just went to grease the driveshaft u-joints but only my front driveshaft had zerks. My frame was replaced in 2018 as well and they replaced the rear driveshaft ujoints with non-greaseable spicer's. I have not replaced tranny fluid, I have 125k on the truck and don't know if I'll replace it or not, still debating whether it would do more harm than good. I did have to replace the intermediate steering shaft because it was super rusted and made steering very hard. Everything else I have added / done to the truck has been preventative maintenance / me just wanting to upgrade it.

Sounds like you should be good if you do all that. No harm in changing trans fluid at all, its a manual, those things love fresh fluid and wont be "damaged" but changing out old fluid.

Do the spark plugs with standard denso replacement plugs.

Like stated grease the U joints on front and rear driveshafts.

And about the only other thing might be power steering fluid and serpentine belt!

Yes, 30k. Don’t do what I did and be clueless and change them at 114k miles. Just had mine replaced 3 weeks ago because I’m too lazy to look. Almost had a misfire start because they were so bad.
