The CC functions, I just don't understand it's "thought" process. When going up a light incline, it'll drop two gears and ring out the RPM's. There's no reason for it to jump that way. I've read a few posts about others with similar issues. I just don't know what to do about it.

At first I thought you had a 3rd Gen and tell you that's normal

Mine as well most 3rd gens are notorious for that, so I just stopped using it. It's pretty crazy though

I just don't use the cruise control.. drove for years with out, so I don't even think of using it anymore.

when I did try it on the truck. it was horrible with the downshift, and fuel economy was worse with than without

Mine did that with the trailer on it, have not tried mountains unloaded... thought it was strange also. Dealer might know a bit more. There maybe software to address it...

When the computer detects a loss of speed it basically floors the gas depending on the rate of loss. The higher the rate, the more throttle applied. Your transmission downshifting is determined by the position of the throttle, the more throttle being used more freeways it downshifts

It's excessive…. Like other have said, I just don't use it anymore. I drove to Houston from Ft. Worth a couple months back and was wishing it worked better.

Run it slow and smoothly jump from one side to the other and maybe try a little back dip before you move forward, sometimes that helps. But try to do it while the puddle is still going otherwise you will get slag inclusion and could weaken the weld some. That gap isnt too bad. I'm assuming your using a flux core welder?
