    Guys,
I am trying to get my new (to me) Tacoma refurbished into good shape. The previous owner put on some weird aftermarket headlights that are severely cracked and awful, and also put on some chintzy tail lights.

I am trying to get back to OEM.

Other threads have suggest Rock Auto for a lot of parts. Can someone give me some info on them? Are they in fact OEM? They are listed as standard replacements, but have a lot of manufacturers. Then they have optional certifications on the parts, so I am a little confused about what I am looking at.

I am interested in doing https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-h4-not-led-or-hid.398066/ But I need to get the assemblies first. The Toyota dealerships want 600 for the pair of lights.

    Can someone help educate me?
    Thanks.

Somebody can probably help you out. I'll offer a suggestion, because I want to do this myself. Get the headlight switch with the DRL switch if your truck has DRLs. I don't know the part number.

My switch (2011, Base level Trim) has off, fog, and on. I don't think there is a conversion for it.

But the stock headlights don't have it either, correct?

I thought it was just the switch, and would work in the same fashion as replacing the wiper switch. I think 14-15 had the DRL switch. Not sure about 3rd gens and other Toyota models if any of those switches would work.

In that thread are links for the smoked OEM light assemblies for $200/each. Expensive, yes. But less than the $600 you were looking at. Be sure to get OEM assemblies, even if used as they will outperform aftermarket ones.
