B1650 scanned OR CODE 32 JUMPED (srs airbags)

This is described as occupant clasification malfunction. This problem should be indicating that you have a problem under the passenger seat/carpet

problems may be one and/or all
1. Ground wire
2. Ocupant Clasification module (replace) not a common problem
3. Short circuit in plugs (corrosion if those were exposed to humidity) most common problem (this happened to me)
4. no.1 seat wiring problem (under driver side/carpet)

5. ECU malfunction ( this is not common)

In my case the air bag light blinked three times then waited for few seconds and bliked again two times, so this means error 32. Let say it blinks 3 times then waits and blinks 3 again, this means error 33.

Go to and interpret the codes then go to and see if you can fix the problem yourself as stealers do At this time you may be able to know what problem your truck has. This diagram will test your skills, but all i can say is that to save you time just disconect the battery and wait at least a minute, then check all plugs under the front seats and make sure they are all connected, then disconect and check for corrosion in the plugs. If you find corrosion clean them gently, then reconnect them.

You may need an OBDII scanner to clear the codes from the ECU, but sometimes you dont, just try to leave the vehicle with the battery disconected (only negative cable) for a long period of time (around 6 hrs) and then reconect it, if you are lucky you will not have to have an OBDII scaner to reset the airbags.

$200 diagnostic
$300 labor
$50 parts (they wont clean plugs)

Those links are dead, you wouldn't happen to have a copy of them still would you? I have an issue with my air bag light at the moment... but that's what happens when water gets in the cab.

 

For anyone having an airbag issue on a 2nd Gen Tacoma, this is the solution that worked for me that I documented here.
