I’ve also been looking for a good cheaper grill guard I can mount some lights on because the previous owner installed a fog light switch on the interior but took off the lights :( so I want to be able to use that switch instead of just flicking it on and off while I’m bored! Lol n also nice snorkel I’ve been thinking about that but I’ve been scared to cut up my truck

Hey again sorry but I was also online and couldn’t find my exact model for sale or even any pictures of it they are all either 2001 trd’s Or just a 2001 sr5 and none with a single cab. Is that a good or bad thing? I don’t think ITs a fake cuz it has all the sr5 packages like overdrive and the towing power feature and the chrome on the bumpers are all there if you can find a link to my exact car for sale or a picture I’d like to know because it has me a little worried

In addition to the KO2s, check out the Bridgestone REVO 3 Duelers... decent tire.
    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Dueler+A/T+Revo+3

As for maintenance, for starters head over to toyota's site and sign up (you'll need your VIN#) for the toyota owners section. you can easily view whatever service history is on file for your truck.
    https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/service-history

While there, check out the recall section and be sure you are clear (again, will need your VIN#) -
    https://www.toyota.com/recall

**If the recall for Lower Ball Joints is still open for your truck, call your local service department and schedule for them to do the work asap. If it has been done, it will show in your service history.

If you don't have the hard copy that came with the truck from the factory -
    https://www.toyota.com/owners/resources/warranty-owners-manuals/tacoma/2001

You mentioned oil and trans fluid, might consider these as well.

    upload_2019-8-31_20-48-33.jpg

Once done, get into the habit of changing the oil on a regular basis.

This might help - again, over at the toyota owner's section I mentioned above...

    https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification

Enter your VIN and it will return vehicle info including what it was sold with and when it was first put into service. Pretty cool.

The wheels on yours are 16" and not base model 15". I dont see the TRD OR decals on the bedsides but those could've been removed. Then again, you did say the husband had worked at toyota, right? I wouldn't worry. Truck looks awesome. Single Cab

Thank you so much that helped a lot and I’ll get right on those and yes I’ve been seeing a lot of ball joint replacements in my era of the car so I was thinking I might need those and I don’t think the decals were removed because it has an sr5 badge on the tailgate and yes the husband did get it from the factory and it’s 2d so it can’t be a trd model. Thanks again man for the warm welcome I wasn’t skeptic about using it and how much feedback I would get but this is more than I ever thought I would thanks again, and your truck deffiently has that mean look I was goin for!

    Why not consider something like:

Then pick up some LED Pods from Amazon along with a wiring harness and hook them up.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074W3X2D4

    https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-Wiring-Harness-Switch-Warranty/dp/B071ZPX32N

really want to make it look clean, go with this switch and put it down in the blank near the accessory power taps (fits here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacoma-accessory-switches.556331/#post-18156996).
    https://www.amazon.com/Toyota-00550-35976-Fog-Light-Switch/dp/B00KTKFBG4

easy to wire up and much cheaper (well the lighting at least) than a damage multiplier grille guard ;)

@dgray925 if you're considering LED lights and a mounting solution, I have an option for you (similar to what @Area51Runner suggested) that I will be removing from my own truck.

I have rago fabrication brackets and cali-raised LED ditch lights and literally have minutes of run time on them; since I've decided night runs are not in my future, I don't need them at all.

Would be willing to sell them cheap, just need to uninstall them.

The rago brackets are really the best in terms of fitment at least that's what I hear (especially from the ebay snorkel crowd lol).

Night runs might not be in your future plans but what is it they say... better to have and not need than to need and not have :anonymous:
