Interesting most all the ones I saw removed come out in pieces .

I sorta tried to get one to refurbish but the Service Manger said they could only go as scrap in pieces

We just dump it all together at work and call them when it's full. Most of what we throw out is stainless though.

Well we bought a replacement for my wife's 2004 Toyota 4Runner. Wasn't planning on buying new but for the price difference between upto 6-7 years old it was only between $2k-4k and they had upto 115k miles on them so why not just buy new and not have anyone's headache they traded in and still have full warranty. Paying the last $4k off of my 2013 Tacoma Baja on Tuesday when the bank opens so I wont have anymore payments on it. Now we'll have a little lower monthly payment than we had for the Tacoma. 2019 Toyota Rav4 XLE Premium AWD color is Blue Flame.

Stainless isn’t worth much either, I believe it’s about 40-50 cents a pound

Big thanks to @Skell for the work he did on my truck yesterday (HC Rear bumper, CMC, Pinch weld Smash, and modifying my skid to work with my sliders. Extremely professional, and quality work!

@Redmann thanks for the recommendation. You were right, definitely worth the drive.

Basic equipment would be - rod, reel, string, steel leader with swivel, 3 and 4 oz. weights, circle hooks and a sand spike. This is enough to get started.
I just picked up a Penn 5500 reel on a 7' rod for ~$215. (There are much cheaper ones but Penns have always been reliable.)
Switched reel over to an 11' rod for longer casting ability from beach.
300 yds of PowerPro SuperSlick Blue braided line-30lb test.
