Here's her Record setting run in 2013 were she became the fastest Woman on wheels . She averaged 394mph with a top speed of 440 mph

At 4 min into the video you'll see her turn and face the camera and give a thumbs up with a huge smile

I was unexpectedly saddened when I heard this. First saw her on Extreme4x4 or whatever the PowerBlock show was called at the time. Personable and had real fab skills.

I'm pretty sure she took speech therapy at some point between seasons because her presentation was noticeably more polished. She bounced around between a few different shows over the years but was always pretty badass.

    RIP Fast Girl

It's definitely a bummer. She was a lot of fun to watch and learn from.
You could definitely see her presentation improve over time, as well as her skills.
I feel terrible for any one close to her

No details yet (that I've seen) other than it was a crash out in the Oregon desert attempting to break her own land speed record. Don't know if it was mechanical failure, driver error or just a freak accident.

At 400 mph nothing is a freak accident. At those speeds it just a matter of when it goes bad, cross your fingers and hope you live to tell the tale. She will be missed.

Truth. Reminds me of an interview I saw once with a test pilot and the quote went something like:

My job is to push the envelope, and aim for the upper right where high speed and high altitude mix. But that's also where postage gets cancelled.

She was a bad ass in all things, and definitely one of my role models.

From what I have been reading, they are speculating that it was a cockpit failure.

Not sure exactly what that means but at the speed she was likely traveling, that can't be good at all (obviously I guess). Sad stuff.

Sad Sad news to hear. Watching the video posted hear surprised to see no Hans Device or an appearance of a roll cage. Using a fighter plane that was probably never designed for impact with the ground it does appear there is not much protection for the pilot.

Not real sure if at 400+ mph if the HANS device or roll cage make that big a difference. The body doesn’t like 400 to 0 mph in a couple of seconds very much.

Impacts at that speed would eat all of those safety items for breakfast. Short of an ejection seat, there isn't much you can do at 400+. Even if you did survive, abrupt impacts at that speed would detach your retinas, you'd break most of the bones in your body, and you'd probably wish you had died anyways.

All rumors and hearsay, but it looks like she was attempting 500+ as a stepping stone to hit supersonic in a future attempt.

I've been to both Bonneville and at El Mirage and have seen some very nasty accidents and the drivers being seriously injured even at speeds approaching 200mph

Was she sick? She was looking really rough the last year or so.
