the painted, covered, or mounted. I haven’t seen a thread for just the visual interior parts. Let’s see the colors and mounts.8CC26195-0E81-49A8-AEA3-7F7CD746804E.jpgED262D46-92DC-4F50-A1C9-DB672BA52609.jpg0DEF1BA3-9331-433E-B5A4-B316206F0EB7.jpgFC84D27B-52D5-4D12-8362-2C8CBF77E055.jpg

Not really my style. But curious as to what type of paint / dye you used on the soft surfaces? I would be worried about cracking and peeling?

I didn’t dye the soft stuff I replaced it. This stuff eats up the glue and the skins slid off, it takes a little time. ABS plastic is a styrene plastic and so are model cars, planes tanks, or whatever. Testors model paint is what I went with. I painted these cars 20 years ago. I am gonna do my passenger door panel then do a full right-up on the drivers side door. I hear you on not my style. I’ve learned it is a love it or hate it. No worries brother image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

It’s 1-2 oz lamb skin and deer hide I got from a leather shop. 1/4 inch of padding behind. 3M supper 77 spray adhesive to hold it on. The melt over mounts that hold the panels on are the worst part of doing this.

The pouch is a condor sidekick. I got strips or plastic, drilled holes. Punched holes into pouch and put in 1/4” grommets. Drilled matching holes in the inside of the lid. Zip ties hold it on.

That’s the one. Damn, I paid $5.00 more. I wedged the pack in between the pen holder for no good reason. Cutting in out would have been easier then use 2 mounting spots in the bottom or back. There are 1/4” grommets I put in the sides of the pouch to keep it sturdy. I pushed the holes in the sides and back with an awl and melted the holes a little. 82BBAFB0-1A94-44E4-A14A-78A6DB4A1AEA.jpg B7E75E18-D170-44D1-AC98-98C32122A8CC.jpg

I think it's really cool. Do you have the console organizer? I am really looking at it, but the description of how you mounted has me a little intimidated, only because I'm chickenshit, and anything other than plug an play without video or pics of it causes me to pause. Who knows, gotta start sometime!

Mounting was a PITA. Drilling and punching 7 set of 3 holes,21 holes total, sucked. Put holes in plastic reinforcements first.hold reinforcements over bag while bag is clamped in console. Push an awl through plastic through bag and leave a mark on the lid. Set up 1 side then bolt in place with small nut and bolt. Repeat for top, then bottom. You have to take the console cover off. The arm rest cover is a soft rubber and comes right off. There are 4 clips that hold the bottom of lid on. Take your time. It sucks a little. I threw the bag twice but picked it up and eventually got it in,

I wish you had done a video on how you did those colored panels on the doors and above the glove box. I had seen some models of Tacomas at Toyota dealers with the different color, but no mention on any sticker of why they were only on some trucks and not all or listed as an option. I HATE the all black color of my interior too, and I have been toying with having my doors vinyl-wrapped or fabric-wrapped. I want to brighten up my interior too, which is why I did the wood panel dash. I also don't like the amount of padding on those door panels that you colored. So I would be very interested in seeing a video of what you actually did if you have one. thanks for sharing this. Interesting post!

I would have sure as fuck traded you my factory red for a normal color that would matched my truck.

I wanted an SR5, when the sales dude showed me the red, I asked him if there was any other options. He showed me what he called butterscotch, damn close to the color the OP did his doors in.

Told him fuck that, I'll take red. I thought it might grow on me.

A week later I took that bitch to an upholstery shop in Jax and paid $267 to have the doors and dash done to match the rest of the truck.
