What to look for when buying a used 3rd gen

I may be an exception to the rule, but I bought my 2016 used with 8.2k miles. I had the TSB for the shifting done. Now has 18.6k miles with no issues what so ever...

 

My advice:

1) Might as well buy a new one especially with truck month coming in October.

2) Make sure it has a manual transmission.

Although the 2016 Toyota Tacoma has the most overall complaints, we rate the 2007 model year as worse because of other possible factors such as higher repair cost or more problems at lower mileage. The most-reported problem is with the 2009 Toyota Tacoma for radio goes off without warning.

 

I would want to know that the previous owner was not a member of this forum.

 

Make sure you look for a 4Runner when shopping for a Tacoma. I wish I did.

 

No offence intended, really, but if you don't know whether you want an SUV or a truck when you're buying, I think your in trouble.

 

I knew what I was looking for when I bought my 2016 Tacoma. If I would have known then what I know now I would have chosen a 4Runner.
