Hmmm... There's a great bar in Monterrey called Doc Ricketts Lab. A friend dragged me to see his favorite band on a work night. I was hesitant because the next day would be hell work wise....but I went. One of the best shows I've ever seen, even though I was not familier with the band. I only knew one song (from a movie called Bill and Teds Excellent adventure). I even heard "new" music they claimed was off their new album...but as far as I know, that album never released. We stayed after the show and waited for the band to come out and sign our ticket stub. The last guy out was the drummer and he stood and talked to us like we were regular guys....such a good night.

That Band was Blue Oyster Cult

The few country shows I have been to were because of a girl (my wife). At the Tracy Lawrence show, I fell asleep. Woke up with my head resting on the shoulder of this big ass cowboy sitting next to me. I apologized, and he responds with "It's alright. She made you come, huh?" I do not know how long I was like that, but I'm pretty sure it was for at least one song.

BTW, I've seen Dwight Yokam as well.

My wife is a huge fan so I bring her every time. Not my favorite but it's a fun atmosphere and it gets me a pass to go to all the metal shows I attend without her.

After missing them countless times I finally got to see them in June. Amazing.

One of the best I've seen..Generation Axe.

    Tosin Abasi
    Nuno Bettencourt
    Zakk Wylde
    Yngwie Malmsteen
    Steve Vai

Look on Youtube..truly something you will not see often. Those 5 on stage at once and jamming together blew my mind..only thing that could have improved it was Joe Satriani.

I just got back from Chicago for work, and it just so happened that Goldfinger was playing at House of Blues, like 20 feet from my hotel. Was EPIC

I would go to so many shows, that my wife got burnt out on going with. She's a big music fan, but as we got older she just couldn't hang physically. She just got too tired. (Her words.) I ended up having a concert "wife" who I went to shows with all of the time. My real wife would ask "Are you going with your buddies or your wife?"

Also I'd be remiss not telling this story (last one...not trying to hog the thread).

I live in Casino country so we get an eclectic mix of bands that roll through playing in a smaller venue than you might have seen them back when they were more popular. Being a huge fan of southern rock (especially the Allman Bros) I jumped at the chance to purchase the best single seat available when .38 Special came to town about 3 years ago. Opening up for them was a Jamey Johnson....a man/band I've never heard of before. I considered showing up late and skipping the opener, but being single what the hell right? The minute Jamey and the boys walked on stage I was awestruck. I swear his music hit me right in the heart that night. He played for a solid 2 hours and quite frankly (and in no way is this disrespect to .38 special who were note for note perfection that night) I left a life long Jamey Johnson fan.

Side note---A few days later I met a girl on Tinder living in Germany. I was planning a trip to visit my old Army base and take in the sights...well we started texting and on a whim I bought a plane ticket. She met me at the airport looking all beatiful, the minute we hit the autobahn heading to her place she threw in Jamey Johnson. It was a surreal feeling going 90 mph+ cranking Can't cash my checks loud and proud.

If you get a chance to see Jamey Johnson within 100 mile radius of where you live....do it. If you don't enjoy yourself and have a good time, I will personally refund the price of your ticket. Best concert I've ever been to, and I didn't even know who the hell he was when I showed up.
