First Tacoma - Sort Of...

So I’m the proud son-in-law of a 2018 Toyota Tacoma SR 4x2 4 cylinder. We finally converted him over to the Toyota/Honda world.

To make a long story short, my father in law just bought a Tacoma, and didn’t really know what he bought as far as engine and package. He’s very happy with most everything except it doesn’t have enough “bling”, and doesn’t have a key fob to open the doors. He wanted a truck that he could go to Home Depot in, gets good gas mileage and had enough room for his border collie. That and tow his 5x10 trailer and zero turn twice a year. He also loved the safety features as he’s getting up there in age. It will be his last truck (not morbid, see below). That said, I’ve mostly been a Honda guy, save for one Corolla I flipped.

I’ve already read about how to upgrade the grill and add intermittent wipers for him. I’m sure he’ll want alloy wheels too.

*His last truck was a 2003 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 he bought new that is for sale with only 39k.

I’ve been compiling a list of things he wants done to the truck. His first priority is getting it “ziebarted”, and running boards and a hood deflector. I’m going to recommend the film for the hood, but it’s his truck.

Immediate priorities are keyless entry (hopefully factory) and adding the intermittent wiper (read and watched videos). After that we’ll work on cosmetics. That won’t be soon as he lives 2 hours away and it’s not an immediate priority.
