I was driving both of these and I like both. The PRO is I am staying with Toyota and the Chevy is branching away and a big step up. The PRO is as is, and the Z71 I would add a 4 inch BDS lift with 33's KM3's and upgraded exhaust that would add another 15HP.

The Z71 is priced about $4k more than the PRO, but the 4in lift would add $5k.

The Z71 has the detuned Corvette engine with a massive 420HP upgrade over the PRO 278hp. Damn it is fast and sounds good.

Does anyone have any experience with the Silverado 6.2L?

Between the two I would take the pro, but myself I would save the money and get the off-road and build it the way you want with the saved money.

It seems there would be a lot of changes to make it a PRO. Grill, skid plate, wheels, maybe tires, 1 inch lift with Fox shocks, stiffer springs, Rigid Fog lights, Pro exhaust, stabilizer bar, luxury heated leather seats, standard Blind Spot monitoring cross traffic alert and Homelink, standard Entune Premium Audio with navigation and JBL Audio and . Maybe more. Then the installation costs, no warranty.

All good, I would go with the 2020 tacoma pro in army green, if you're not in a hurry

I would not buy a modded vehicle, unless I personally knew the owner, and they did things right.
Aside from that? Two entirely different trucks, both with pros and cons. You should list what you consider and see what fits you the best.

Invest in a good set of tools. You're gonna need them to fix that Chevy.

you can probably get the silverado for a lot less than that, they're always running specials on the full size trucks

None yet - It’s my father in laws truck
My question would be this, have you owned a GM truck before? If so and you’re still considering it then you might have an interesting decision to make.

If you’ve not owned a GM vehicle before, walk, no run away.

I say this having owned 2-1/2 GM trucks.

I will be honest , I have zero loyalty to Toyota . In 30 years of owning trucks , probably 14 new trucks in that time , and in that time all been full size. I had to downsize in the last few months and got rid of my 2017 FULLY LOADED F-150, and bought a 2019 TRD Off Road . Biggest mistake I have ever made was buying a Tacoma. IMO , Buy the bigger truck .

I like the pro unless you need the V8 and the HP for towing .

Two different types of vehicles IMO. Full size should not be compared to mid-size. If you just "want" one of these trucks, that would be great but if you have future needs like a growing family or towing heavy, then that will help determine the size of truck you should buy.

I've had a quite a few mid-size trucks, always liked them but a growing family and towing pushed me into full-size many years ago. Now that my family is grown, my needs are changing again and I see me going back to mid-size as there are many benefits to having a smaller truck....the same as there are many benefits to having a larger truck.

The reason I quoted this post....if you are not getting 20% off sticker on a full size American truck, you are not trying! My current truck (19 Ram) I got 20% off MSRP with a less than 5 minute phone call. The same as I did with my previous Ram and my two previous F150's. I will admit, through those years and purchases, Chevy/GMC was always more difficult to bend than the others but they will bend.

I see those RAM trucks on sale for $14,000 off. That just tells me they were way over priced in the first place. The Z71 is 10% off. Still over priced in the first place.

When I see ADM on the PRO's, that is just greed

What does US News report card have to do with someone's experience with a vehicle's reliability? You obviously are keen on buying the Chevy, so buy it. Not sure why you bothered asking.
