Ive always enjoyed my N82 Tactical IWB holsters. Its not Kydex though but rather a leather that goes against your skin and neoprene on the gun side

Got a little plinking in today.

 

Mark this day boys....took the fiance shooting for with my guns for the first time. We've been together almost four years. Gone shooting before but was back east and not with my guns. Took her out and she wanted to shoot the "bedside" gun and my carry gun. I brought along my Sig 226 (my favorite pistol) and a Ruger Gp100 with 38 special id never shot before. The other gun was my FNX-45 Tactical (bedside gun) and like a dumbass i forgot my carry gun (XDS45....well it and the 226). Anyways she did awesome and enjoyed them all. Actually said she enjoyed the short barreled GP100 with 38 special the best. Accuracy wise she did decent IMO. Only shot at 7 yards but was good left to right. Up and down though was another issue. Left to right she could hold it within 2-3". Up and down though...more like 12-18".

But two things did come about from that.

1) The FNX-45 might have to go back to the factory. For some reason the trigger stopped resetting fully. You could fire it but it would reset the trigger. You could push the trigger forward to force it but obviously isnt working right

2) Few days later she asked when we can go again

Is it just lead deposits from wad cutters?

 

It looks like the crown is royally screwed? Was that just with factory ammo?

 

This seems plausible; I am new to wadcutters.

Going to buy a lead remover today... Anyone suggest anything other than Lewis?

what caliber? it may be just lead, if the barrel is messed up definitely needs to get warrantee work. it shouldnt even be hardly a blemish on it in 200 rds. i hope its only bad ammo.

I'd definitely clean, try some better wad cutters. That lead might be too soft.

I have fired several thousand’s of wadcutters through my 681 and never had an issue. Not same ammo as you but this much lead build up is certainly troublesome. I have seen some (not to this extent) with .22 cal cheap ammo after hours of overheating a barrel.

 

There was one review had some key hole and excessive lead build up

 

Id clean and try some good ammo

 

I managed to spend about an hour at the range and put 200 rounds through these guns, I wanted to shoot more with the PPS but have to qualify with the M&P later this week so I put about 20 rounds through the Walther and the rest through the Smith.
