Thank you all for all your answers and prayers too:) Mom is getting the fight in her now-I hear the Italian coming out-especially after I read her your thoughts here! Me and Sis are going to help get this going so it's time to lawyer up. Stupid jerks those city pigs. To have to fight for something they did just to get an even break-at 79???-friggin shameful IMO. Thanks again all:)

First, make sure that your city (or government entity that hit her) does not have sovereign immunity that limits their liability to zero or $1,000.

If they don't, then take them to small claims court (have your ducks in a row first).

I am not a lawyer but have done this before and won, but it was a cat fight ... and good luck

my sister got backed into by a garbage truck in our neighborhood. technically, i'd say she was too close, but either way the truck didn't see her and apparently backed up too fast for her to react, so it was their fault and they paid for damages. i do remember my dad having to threaten to sue and practically had to pull teeth to get any money. their gonna try to screw you. just depends on whether its worth fighting or not. how much money in damage?
