I’m in CA and looking for a Ducati Streetfighter 1098 (black). I have found a few low mileage ones for a good price at different dealers across the country. What do you recommend I should do to safely purchase a bike out of state, specifically in arranging shipping and avoiding paying as much CA taxes as possible? Registering in a neighboring state is an option.

    Does it have CA emissions?
If not, does it have at least 7500 miles on it?
If not, can you register in AZ?

When I bought my 1999 Ducati 996s out of state, I flew from west palm beach FL to New Orleans LA and met the owner. Gave me the chance to do a full look over and ensure it met my specs and then we did the paperwork and I trailered it home with a uhaul truck and trailer. It was a bit more $$ than paying a shipping company, but I wanted to ensure it was as described.

    Good luck!
