SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
I saw that someone had noted their impression of the Tacoma is garbage because all there is on the forums is negative crap. Well, duh - who comes to a forum to ask for help when their isn't an issue? Well, just for them and others who need to see the vast majority of Tacoma's are out here doing what they do well I thought to start this. Who else is actually loving their Tacoma?

My transmission works fine, I have 66,000 miles on my truck with no rearend leaking or howling, the third brakelight doesn't leak, the leafs do squeak but that is why we have radios, I have no issues with the radio or nav system - they do exactly what I expect and allow me to navigate to destinations easily avoiding traffic problems and connects to my phone for playing music simply. I get 20MPG driving to work daily, where my old Taurus got ... 20 MPG. So I get a truck that is a badass offroad and didn't suffer any mileage loss in spite of the oversize KO2's. I've added RCI skids, Rago parts, and RRW sliders. All bolted on easily and work as well as they look. I've been offroading a lot with her and have gotten through spots where Jeeps had gotten stuck and have gotten her stuck (once) so I have pushed the mud, snow & trail abilities. The electronic diff lock, Auto LSD, MTS system all work as expected (never had a need to try crawl control). My son drove to Georgia and back to haul home a full frame for his 2003 4Runner and his three buddies had a great time with the Taco easily handling the dual axle trailer. It's flat pulled the fully built 4Runner on a dolly with ease, still getting 14MPG through the 45 minute drive. We pull trees, haul scrap steel and yard waste both in the bed and on a trailer weekly (had the trailer suspension flattened a few times but Galadriel pulled it quite easily). It looks beautiful, handles well for a truck, and performs every job we ask it to do. I get a lot of compliments on her from offroaders, even the Jeep crowd. I have total confidence she will last 250,000+ miles. If you want a truck, why would you get anything other than a Tacoma??

Welcome to Tacoma World if you haven't already been welcomed.

I think the 3rd gen is pretty solid vehicle.

You said you like the OE radio and navigation system. What did your average motorists do before they had GPS at their disposal?

    It's a great pickup truck.

Anything can be improved, but the handful of changes I've made were the things that bugged me enough to actually bother with.

    New speakers.
    Sound deadening.
Pro grill ... just to make a front camera practical in snow country.
TRD skid plate, cuz her shins are dainty.
Debadge/desticker cuz Toyota won't pay me for advertising.

It's an electronics/programmer's dream toy though. I plan to fix things that aren't broken.

I’m on my 2nd 3rd gen taco.. I had 2.7 auto and now 3.5 manual.. no issues here...

In mi opinion, a lot people here suffer from 1st world problems. I hope I don’t get too much chit about saying this... of course if you paid near 40k for your truck and you have real issues I completely understand...

In my case, no issues... NO I had one with my 2.7, the hood and hood frame failed.. so I had that annoying vibration... bought the proper car panel glue and fixed it myself... it was cheaper than going to F@cking dealer and get it fixed...
