Hey guys looks like I need a new cluster to get this code to go away and pass deq. I’m having trouble finding a cluster on eBay for 05 model everything is 06-08. Will those clusters work for an 05?

What code? How will a new cluster solve this?

There are differences in instrument clusters throughout the years and people have failed crossing over the year change somewhere around the 2011 or 2012 years. '05 doesn't have TPMS, so it's anybody's guess what might light up wrong if you plug in a different year.

P0500 is the code. Everything works fine. The light was off and on for a couple months now it just stays on all the time

I found a whole bunch of '05 clusters on ebay, but you need to make sure everything is correct. 4cyl, V6, manual, automatic, 2wd, 4wd.

I don't think a new cluster is going to make the code go away. I looked it up and it has to do with the vehicle speed sensor.
You might want to check that out before spending money on something you might not need.

OP did you inspect your speedo gear? There is a nylon gear ring that can fail and cause that code. It usually starts throwing the code intermittently as the teeth on the gear wear away, then fails completely when all the teeth are shredded off. Sounds like the problems you are having.
