$4 at Kohls plus a free pop socket at the IBM company picnic and it dont have some obnoxious mount in the middle of my dash.
My phone is removed from case so i could take picture but you get the idea.

My problem when I kept my phone on the vent was over heating. It worked great all summer, but as soon as I started using heat in the truck I started having the phone overheat. And that is with keeping the air on defrost(some air still comes out the dash vents.)

Yeah it’s creative but not practical in my opinion.

1st. I REALLY like it. It looks solid and out of the way yet convenient.

2nd. There's an airbag behind that handle. You can access it by removing the two bolts, the one you're using for your mount and the other one at the other side of the handle. You just pull the handle out once those are removed. I just want to point this out to make sure you're aware and the mount isn't hindering the airbag. It's been a few years since I pulled the handle to route a cord for my scanguage.

I did the Panavise. It's close to the USB outlets and is solid with a ton of phone mount options.

+eleventy for the RAM mount A-pillar mod.

I was concerned it would be "too bulky" and look weird but after having mine installed for roughly a year I can't imagine going without it.

Has taken some pretty hard bumps on offroading trips too and I never once worried about my phone falling off. I've actually perfected left handed/one-handed removal when I'm getting out of the rig. You know what they say... If you can do it with your left hand then you're never truly alone. Wait, what?

Appreciate the looking out, but this is in an 06. I don’t think it came with the side airbags. There’s no markings anywhere indicating they’re there.

The 6" is perfect for your phone, the 13" would be good for use with a tablet (maps and such).
    I bought both sizes.

I put a phone magnet mount pad in my lowest sun glass holder by the back up mirror. Quick and easy mount and dismount with keeping everything stock looking.

I started with the magnet/vent style, but it would; 1) block the AC vent in the summer 2) heat the phone up in the winter and 3) would fall off sometimes when hiting a good bump. On occasion I still use the magnet/vent style, but on one of my older phones loaded with the Torque app to monitor the OBDII. This is what I use now with my Pixel 2XL

It's a little crazy that in 2019 anyone is still using a dedicated GPS in their car. Especially since you can squeeze your pixel and ask it to take you anywhere in the world.

I also run an old school Garmin as well as cell phone based mapping. They show you different aspects. Also, I go to remote locations with no cell phone coverage - the Garmin can still receive the satellite signals.

My two grown sons ask the same question. There are a few reasons and one of them may explain my 8 track tape collection and the rabbit ears on my TV.

Correct, just because you have no cell service doesn't mean your phone suddenly becomes a useless brick.
