Idk what a good deal on custom builds are. I wouldn’t even know where to start on the yeti. Generally I’ve only bought stock

You didn’t make it up, I was selling a bike. It’s gone now.
Used is where it’s at if you aren’t the type that just has to have the newest hotness. I usually ‘upgrade’ every other year or so. And typically keep my budget under $3500, with the goal to be as close to $2500 as possible.

This is my most recent addition. ‘18 Trek Fuel EX 9.9 frame with a mix of new and lightly used Bontrager/XT/SLX components that I picked up. I’m all in for right at $2700 which I felt was a good deal for what it is.

Get live edge slabs and make a metal base that's where the real money is at. Every tom dick and harry big box furniture store has tables like this for cheap it'll be hard to compete and make it worth your time. It may take more time to build but every one will be different and "custom" which people like. Plus you'll get the $$$$ customers willing to pay more for the product and your time.

You’re riding. Win in my book.
The ‘19 is on sale for $6800 now that the ‘20 are out. That price brings much higher end components than what I built, but the frames are identical. For the $4k I didn’t spend, I’m fine with my mid level build.

Put it in there to enhance the quality/ambience of my posting. Song drives me crazy about half way through.

Remembered it because I happened to show my son the Dead Parrot skit the other and that led to the Lumberjack Song. At the first of the song you can hear someone say "What about my dead parrot!"

So have you listened to the end of the song?

I love the Dead Parrot. He’s not dead! He’s just sleeping!

I’m new to single track, but I feel that I can hold my own conditioning wise. It’s nice to have a cheap bike while I’m learning drop offs and whatnot. Seems like I break something every time I go.
