This is probably stupid of me as most things are but...I have always been kindof scared to do a transmission service (or have one done) on any of my or my wife's vehicles. We don't put crazy miles on them but have owned a couple up around the 180k mark. Have yet to do any transmission services or have any transmission work done. Maybe we've just been lucky but I am more of a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" when it involves transmissions.

I agree 100% Bob! And if I didn't fear my fluid was low I would be like fuck it. However, so many people have reported it low that it really bugs me. I even went out right after reading so many posts because I thought it was bull shit about not having a dipstick to be able to check it!!!!

My first car was a 68' Ford and I have had at least 20 vehicles since then (bikes, cars & trucks) and this is absolutely the first one I have never been able to check the tranny fluid on. Well, my 16' Lex too but then again I have never looked in there. Until a couple weeks ago the dealer was doing the service on that. I just did it recently and that is a hybrid so I promise I am not worrying about that one.

Well, when I did my lift I also did the ECGS bushing and they recommend only using dyno, so based on others use, I am replacing all three with Lucas 90/140 dyno.

I have no problem replacing those fluids at all. Easy peasy. But I read to do the tranny yourself or to even check the level there is some shit you need to do in the fuse panel to fool it into thinking bla bla bla [over my head mechanical stuffs]..........so to ensure it gets done correctly I will pay to have it done this one time and then never worry about it again. The tranny fluid that is.

I’m soaking a carburetor, rebuild kit arrives at 5. And then put it all back together all while drinking beer.
