The airbag light suddenly came on while I was driving. No bumps or pothole on the road. I have noticed that after I shut the engine and restart it the problem will go away. I noticed that if I am turning to the left the light would come back on when the steering wheel is turned to a certain degree. The same thing happen when I back out of my garage and turn the steering wheel to the left, I would stop by the curb and shut the engine to turn the idiot light off. The light does not come on on straight driving or right turns. I would like to have an idea what the problem is before I take it to the dealer.

Welcome to TW! Maybe try plugging an OBDII scanner into your truck to see if it's throwing any airbag-related codes.

Does your horn work? Are your headlights working properly? There is a not uncommon issue with the clockspring in the steering column that would affect all those systems that was addressed via recall for many 2nd gens.

Thanks to all of the warm welcome. The lights, horn and other systems are working with the exception of the cruise control which has been out for awhile. I just called the dealership and found out about a voluntary recall for the spiral cable. I'm going to take it in for the replacement /recall and hope that it would solve that problem. I'll post on this thread the outcome by the 28th.

Took the truck to the dealership for the spiral cable recall. This cleared the airbag llight indicator and also got the cruise control working. Thanks for the help and hints..
