    Hello all,
thanks for the add, glad to be part of this group
I have a 2005 TRD 4L 6 speed Tacoma, bought new in '05. Many many thing have transpired in the 14 years since I bought "the black pearl"
In '06, got stuck in a snow bank on top of the Canyons in Utah during a heavy snowstorm. Used the e-locker for the first time and it completely shredded my rear. Toyota Salt Lake sent a flat bed to haul her away. It was deemed a warranty issue and they put a brand new rear in at no cost to me! I was impressed,to say the least! Yes I have pictures of that day at dusk in dumping powder.
Next major drama, in '13, a motor mount broke due to rust and the engine dropped enough to shear off a bolt on the inside of the tranny. The tranny was destroyed. took it to Toyota North Vancouver as I was living in Squamish at the time. It spent 6 months there, the first 4 months waiting for Toyota to own up to the rust issues on the frame. It was decided that they would not cover it so I dropped $4500 into having the engine and tranny pulled and welding the motor mount back in. Was bummed at the expense but stoked to have the "pearl" back again.
In 2018, my VIN showed up on the recall list for a frame and leaf package inspection which promptly they both failed. A new leaf package was installed and I was put on the waiting list for a new frame. Friday a week ago, my turn finally arrived. As I write, the new frame is being installed, return ETA next week!! More than stoked!
This is my 3rd toy, the first two were hi-luxes in Chile when I lived there for 7 years. An '87 and a '95, both with the badass 22re motor! Will never own anything but a toy!
cheers to all the members out there in taco land!

here's the Black Pearl last Friday dawn ready to get her new chassy!
