So I've been sniping on this site for a hot minute. My goal here is not to s**t on folks that want to add a bunch of cool lights and baller wheels but to take a step back and say "Hey, this made a real difference off-road". Dude if you want all the parts from 4 Wheel Drive - more power to you. But take that sucker somewhere not paved. I say that because it's usually the junk that isn't found in Hollywood (holy crap - a $600k "off-road" Brabus G-Wagon) that will save your ass. Input what kept you out of a bind. Input what made your life easier on a 3 day adventure...especially if you have kids. I did a few days at a time with my daughter and my God did I learn some things I never thought of.

What's your favorite spot? Why? I'm sorry East Cost - I lived there most of my life buy you don't have nearly the opportunities. But hey! Trans America! Let's go friends!

Oh shit...30 miles to nowhere. Plant some rocks under the rear tire, lock the rear diff, back her off.

So what is it you learned?? Never go wheelin in remote desert environments by yourself? I see no other vehicles in your pictures. I lived in Arizona most of my life and tackled many awesome trails over the years, I would never bring my daughter out there without being in a group of several vehicles. When trouble happens it happens fast and 30 miles from no where is a long ways to walk in the desert!!!

What I learned was even after 30 miles, check each mound, even when you've humped 30. I had already flown my daughter to my parents house. I had a threshold for uncertainty and would not cross that with baby girl in the truck. But if you want to overland, be prepared to be by yourself. Which is, again, why my daughter was not with me when I got stuck. But good point bro - safety of the passengers over the driver. I think that was what you were getting at.

Theres safety in numbers my friend,, not just for your passengers but yourself also. Western US can be a wheelers paridise or your death sentence. I love it out west, the opportunities for wheelin are almost endless. I just want all TW members to be safe while out there. Have fun!!!
