Soooo long story short, I lost 1 of my 2 keys in Mexico, had a sketchy locksmith cut out a new key and program it to my truck. After returning back home my other key doesn't work with my truck. I'm assuming the locksmith changed the only allowable code in the truck to a random one he set. I tried a few techniques on youtube, but I don't think they work with the newer toyota vehicles. I found a possible solution here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-program-your-own-smart-key-fob.555673/

I would be comfortable trying this out since I'm relatively tech savvy, but am unsure if this works with 2019 toyota vehicles. I've also found some OBDII fobs that seem to work, but again, unsure if they work with the 2019 Tacoma.

I have a manual 2019 tacoma so it's just a normal key and fob. No remoteless entry or smart key fobs or anything.

Anyone with experience with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have smart key, and reprogrammed with techstream, so I dont have personal experience with the manual key.

I am 90% sure it is similar to the smart key process, and only requires techstream.

You should be able to find some posts about programming the manual key on TW

    Search for 'H key'.

How can you tell which letter "key" corresponds to your car? I see OBDII dongles all over Amazon that are for H and J keys and so on... is there a good place to read up on this stuff?

Techstream will work for the dumb keys. The numbers on your key fob contain the information you need regarding H, J, etc.

If you don't have a sticker on your fob, or the sticker is too worn to read, you may need to crack open the fob to check the chip(s) inside.
